ChatGPT Folders, Profiles & More is a Chrome extension that adds folders, custom instruction profiles, favorite prompts, prompt chains, notes, and other organizational tools to chatgpt.com. This privacy policy explains our approach to user data.
ChatGPT Folders, Profiles & More does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. All data created by the extension — folders, profiles, prompts, notes, and settings — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
The extension interacts with ChatGPT's own APIs on your behalf to apply profile settings and manage conversations. These requests are made directly from your browser to OpenAI using your existing session. The extension has no backend server and does not intercept or store any of your conversations or credentials.
We do not use any analytics services, tracking tools, or third-party services that collect user information. This includes:
• No Google Analytics
• No advertising tracking
• No usage statistics
• No crash reporting that includes personal data
All extension data (folders, profiles, prompts, notes, etc.) is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key chatgpt_fp_v1. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for chatgpt.com.
The extension requests the following browser permission, used solely to enable its core functionality:
• Host permission (chatgpt.com) — required to inject the extension UI into chatgpt.com and interact with ChatGPT's interface and API endpoints for managing conversations, profiles, and settings
