Tube Hide is a browser extension that lets users hide distracting elements on YouTube, such as the home feed, sidebar recommendations, Shorts, comments, and end screen suggestions, and block specific channels or title keywords. This privacy policy explains our approach to user data.
Tube Hide does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers. All data created by the extension — your toggle preferences, channel blocklist, and keyword blocklist — is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
We do not use any analytics services, tracking tools, or third-party services that collect user information. This includes:
• No Google Analytics
• No advertising tracking
• No usage statistics
• No crash reporting that includes personal data
All extension data (toggle settings, blocked channels, and blocked keywords) is saved using the browser's chrome.storage.local API. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension or clearing its stored data through your browser's extension settings.
The extension requests the following browser permissions, used solely to enable its core functionality:
• Storage — used to save your toggle preferences and blocklists locally on your device
• Host permission (youtube.com) — required so the extension can read the page and apply your chosen display preferences directly on YouTube
If we make any changes to this privacy policy in the future, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
